In a tournament that began in June, Doug Rohrbaugh of Ironbridge Golf Club outshot Matt Schalk of Vista Ridge Golf Club 4 and 3 to win the Colorado Section PGA Individual Match Play championship Thursday at Colorado Golf Club in Larkspur.
In the semifinals, Rohrbaugh edged Gregg Jones of Colorado Springs Country Club 1-up after a par on the final hole. Schalk defeated Geoff Keffer of Overland Golf Course 5 and 4 in the other semifinal.
Metro’s soccer teams move up. The Metro State men’s soccer team jumped four spots into the No. 14 ranking in the NSCAA national poll. The Roadrunners (9-1-2) are 10 spots ahead of Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference rival Fort Lewis (8-2-0) at No. 24.
The Metro State women’s team (8-2-1) is ranked No. 13, the lone RMAC team in the national women’s poll.
