If Craigslist has contributed to the death of newspapers, a new site, wants to be the death of Craigslist, at least in southern Colorado.
About two weeks ago, a slew of broadcast stations and the Colorado Springs Independent introduced a website aimed squarely at beating Craigslist as the number one distributor of free online classified ads in this southern Colorado city.
Craigslist is a free online ad service that pretty much will list anything. Based in San Francisco, it still boasts of having only 23 employees, despite fielding 5 billion page views per month.
