DENVER—Lyle Laverty, former director of Colorado State Parks, has been confirmed as assistant Interior secretary for fish, wildlife and parks, Sen. Wayne Allard’s office said Friday.
Laverty spent 35 years with the U.S. Forest Service, rising to become associate deputy chief.
During his time with Colorado State Parks, Colorado opened new state parks, increased park visitation, reduced the threat of wildfire on state lands, and improved park conditions.
