Support: It’s about time
In response to Jim Armstrong’s article, “Helton ready to take fate one game at a time,” I’m taking this opportunity to say something I’ve wanted to say to so many Colorado sportswriters for about 12 years now. It’s about time! After 12 years of taking shots at the players, managers, front office and organization, it is truly nice to see you guys leading the bandwagon. After countless articles calling for trades (Helton for one), firings (Hurdle) and bashing the club, these past two weeks must have been hard on all of you, considering you were actually showing support for our hometown team. Years of doing the exact opposite of support and in 15 games you have become the greatest fans of all. Am I complaining? Heck no! I love the Rockies fever sweeping the state … just in the years to come, try to stick with the supporting approach.

Future looks great
Just a note from a diehard San Diego Padres fan. You should be proud of your Rockies. They did a tremendous job down the stretch. Regardless of what happens, you have many great seasons ahead of you. Holliday, Hawpe, Tulowitzki, and Atkins (not to mention Helton!). – all great players who have barely touched their potential.
