With Halloween around the corner, Savers thrift stores are packed with secondhand costumes, scary new accessories and a witch’s brew of spooky decorating ideas. Those in-the-know report that pirates, goth royalty and “green” costumes forged from 100 percent reusable items are among this year’s must-have Halloween looks. Third Ave. in Denver. The new company site boasts product details, a handy search function, showroom news, culinary tips and recipes for such alluring dishes as smoky gazpacho and hamburgers stuffed with herbed goat cheese. .


Craft-aganza

The Bizarre Textile Bazaar is the name of the arts and craft market Saturday at TACtile, the Textile Arts Center at Tamarac Square (7777 E. Hampden Ave., Suite 114, Denver). TACtile is a fabric arts gallery and community center that hosts classes, creative workshops and special events. Its Bizarre Bazaar is dubbed as a chance for the hands-on crowd to “sell your stash, created items and/or unwanted supplies.” Shopper entry is $5. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. .
