A Fort Carson soldier died Sunday in Iraq of wounds suffered after an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle.
Pfc. Kenneth J. Iwasinski, 22, of West Springfield, Mass., died in Baghdad. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division.
Iwasinski is the 223rd soldier from Fort Carson to die in the war on terror.
