Downtown Denver’s 21st Street will be temporarily renamed “Rockies Road” during a ceremony that Colorado Gov. Bill Ritter and Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper will preside over tonight.
Denver Public Works’ Traffic Engineering Services produced the street signs for the renaming at 7 p.m., ahead of tonight’s 8:15 home game.
Also tonight, Hickenlooper and Ritter will officially proclaim Tuesday “Colorado Rockies Purple Tuesday” in Denver. Rockies fans are encouraged to wear purple Tuesday to support the team.
