A 42-year-old woman was charged today with shooting and killing a 56-year-old man near Sloan’s Lake Park last week.
Shari Herrera of Edgewater was charged with one count of first-degree murder.
The Denver District Attorney’s Office said Herrera approached Joseph Trujillo of Denver, who was walking with his wife south of Sloan’s Lake along 17th Avenue. Herrera had a brief conversation with Trujillo, the allegedly shot him.
Herrera is being held without bond in the Denver County Jail.
