Getting your player ready...

Even with the layoff before the playoffs the Rockies will get plenty of work before the World Series as outlined by manager Clint Hurdle today. The Rockies worked out today and will stage three scrimmage games leading up to their departure to the American League city on Monday night.

They will be off tomorrow, then the plan will go as follows:

— A 4-inning game on Friday with live piching, live hitting, and situational defensive work

— Saturday will feature a 7-inning game, which will include base running.

“The focus will be on the intensity. The more we put into it, the more we will get out of it” Hurdle says.

— On Sunday the team will stage a 7 1/2-inning game with live pitching, live hitting, but no base running. “Everybody that is here with us now will pitch at some point during those three days,” said Hurdle whose toughest decision will be whether to add Aaron Cook to the World Series roster.

— The Rockies will have a quick afternoon workout before flying to the American League city on Monday.
