The death of a 5-year-old girl Tuesday in rural Mesa County has been determined by authorities to be an accident.
The girl, who was not identified, was playing on a piece of farm equipment on her family’s property near the small Western Slope town of Mesa when the accident happened.
Emergency responders were called to the home at 10535 County Road 48 1/2 but were unable to save the girl.
The Mesa County Coroner’s Office today ruled the death accidental.
