A young Parker woman pleaded guilty Friday to concealing the death of her newborn child.

Addie Kubisiak, 19, a 2006 graduate of Ponderosa High School, was given a deferred judgment in the case and was sentenced to probation for 24 months, said Kathleen Walsh, a spokeswoman for the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office.

Kubisiak was ordered to complete 50 hours of public service and to undergo mental health counseling, Walsh said.

She was arrested in January in Gunnison, where she was a freshman at Western State College.

Kubisiak was driving to her Parker home in late 2006 when she pulled over and gave birth in her car.

She had kept her pregnancy and the birth a secret from family and friends. The baby was stillborn, and Kubisiak took the body back to Gunnison and hid it in the ceiling of her dorm room.
