International Gem and Jewelry Show, Friday through Nov. 11 at the Denver Merchandise Mart, 451 E. 58th Ave.; online at for an admission discount coupon
Sparkling deals. Gemstones from diamonds to sapphires, plus Swarovski crystal, African trade beads, Italian millifiore beads, jewelers tools, but also Russian nesting dolls, elegant scarves and more are on display. Plus the perennial Jewelry of the Stars exhibit, evidence that tackiness remains undefined by what the price tag says. This is a smaller version of the vast gem show that sprawls all over town in September, far less daunting to navigate.
