Elsewhere, Rocky Mountain rolled Smoky Hill 42-21; Pomona (Donovan Bowens, 215 yards rushing, three touchdowns) rocked Horizon 49-6; Grandview (Bo Bolen, 230 yards rushing, two touchdowns) rolled by Fruita Monument 38-0 and Highlands Ranch slipped past Rangeview 20-18.
Class 2A first round. Visiting Erie knocked down Kent Denver and ended the Sun Devils’ six-game winning streak with a 22-7 victory.
Also, Holy Family held off spirited Brush 41-36; defending champion Faith Christian rocked Pagosa Springs 48-0 for its 23rd consecutive victory; Eaton thumped Aspen 30-7 and Platte Canyon earned one of the few road victories, 27-0 at Trinidad.
1A, 8-man and 6-man first rounds. 1A’s top seeds rolled as Akron crushed Meeker 46-0 and Limon handled Holyoke 28-21; defending 8-man champion Granada withstood Nucla 20-6; and 6-man top-seeded Peetz drubbed Kit Carson 56-29.
