For the record: The Chiefs are 4-4 and tied with San Diego for first place in the AFC West.
Last week: The Chiefs lost at home to Green Bay 33-22 on Sunday.
Streaking: The Broncos are horrible at Arrowhead Stadium. They haven’t won in Kansas City since 2002.
Who’s hot: Kansas City tight end Tony Gonzalez made 10 catches for 109 yards and a touchdown against Green Bay. Gonzalez has been a Broncos killer over the years, and Denver is struggling in defending the tight end this year.
Who’s not: The Chiefs’ running game. Larry Johnson has struggled much of the season, and he suffered an ankle injury Sunday that could prevent him from playing against the Broncos. His replacement, Priest Holmes, gained 8 yards on three carries against Green Bay.
Key stat: Kansas City gave up 20 points to the Packers in the fourth quarter.
FYI: The Chiefs’ next three home games are against AFC West opponents. Tickets are available for all three games. Usually Chiefs games are sold out long in advance.
Coachspeak: “It was a game that with five minutes to go we were in good shape to win it. We didn’t do a good enough job on defense to stop them. We let them get away a couple of times and we’ve got to recover from this.” – Kansas City coach Herman Edwards, after the loss to Green Bay
