After one too many weeks of trying to ride the coattails of this hysteria-driven event or that, The Denver Post $25 Haiku Contest this week reverted to a more natural topic: cold. Most of the results were glorious, but winner Marlene Rezvani of Englewood blew right past the competition:
Fresh blast, fall fades fast.
Leaves whirl past … one final dance
late, dark, silent … cold!
