The cause of death for a 3-year-old brought to a hospital weighing as little as 19 pounds is still pending, the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner said Tuesday.
The autopsy was completed Oct. 31, a day after Zianne Hall died, but the cause and manner of death are pending, the release said. It did not specify whether authorities were waiting for further test results or why they had not determined Zianne’s cause of death.
Her mother, Shaunee Hall, brought her to a hospital Oct. 13, and a doctor determined Zianne was extremely dehydrated and malnourished because of neglect, an arrest warrant said.
Hall, 23, and her roommate, Tina Marie Houcks, 36, were charged with felony child abuse, authorities said.
