Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler practiced Wednesday an hour after saying it was too early to tell if he could play on Sunday at Kansas City.
“He looekd good,” coach Mike Shanahan said. “If there isn’t a setback he should play (on Sunday).”
In the early portion of practice, Cutler worked with his lower left leg wrapped. He seemed to be throwing the ball well while moving gingerly. If Cutler can’t play, backup Patrick Ramsey will start Sunday at Kansas City in a game the 3-5 Broncos must win if they hope to stay afloat in the AFC West race.
Cutler was injured in the second quarter of Denver’s 44-7 loss at Detroit on Sunday. He did not return to the game and Ramsey made his Denver debut.
Also, Denver running back Travis Henry didn’t practice Wednesday. He suffered a knee injury on Sunday but said he would be fine.
…Safety John Lynch also practiced Wednesday. He missed the Detroit game with a pinched nerve in his neck he suffered the week before against Green Bay.
