Charges have been modified against two women charged with child abuse after prosecutors said a 3-year-old starved to death.
Shaunee Hall, mother of Zianne Hall, and her roommate, Tina Houcks were charged with child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury, but Zianna died last month so the charges are now child abuse resulting in death, according to a news release from the Denver District Attorney’s office.
Both charges are class 3 felonies.
Zianne was brought to the hospital Oct. 13 weighing about 20 pounds and doctors determined it was neglect, an arrest warrant said. She died Oct. 30.
Hall, 23, and Houcks, 36, remain in the Denver County jail each on $75,000 bonds, the release said.
