Detectives are at the scene of a shooting in southwest Denver in which two men reportedly knocked on the door of a home, then opened fire.
The shooting happened at about 8 p.m. in the 1200 block of South Utica Street. Witnesses told police that two men knocked on the door of the house. When somebody answered, the two men started shooting, hitting an adult man in the shoulder.
The suspects then fled on foot, witnesses told police.
The man who was shot was taken by ambulance to the hospital with injuries that are not considered life threatening, Denver police spokesman Sonny Jackson said.
Officers are currently combing the neighborhood.
“We’re looking around the area for the suspects, trying to get information,” Jackson said.
Jackson said detectives believe the shooting is possibly gang related.
