Pueblo — Six people were hospitalized including three with life-threating injuries when two vehicles collided this afternoon on a bridge over Interstate 25.
Pueblo police said that a 2001 Kia Rio driven by 43-year-old Paul Archuleta was driving erratically, weaving in and out of traffic, while eastbound on the Northern Avenue bridge when he smashed into an oncoming Dodge Durango driven by 41-year-old Jeryl Brown.
Initial investigation reveals that alcohol and excessive speed were involved with Archuleta, Pueblo police said.
Three people in Archuleta’s vehicle suffered the most serious injuries. Brown and his family were treated at Parkview Hospital and released, police said.
