GREELEY—A fire at a Greeley apartment complex has damaged at least one unit and injured two people.
Union Colony Fire and Rescue Battalion Chief Greg Thompson says one man had second-degree burns on his hands and arms, while the apartment manager suffered smoke inhalation. The man was treated and released at a hospital, and Thompson says the female apartment manager did not appear to be seriously hurt.
The blaze broke out at 12:30 a.m. Thompson says it apparently started when bed covers in one unit were accidentally pushed between a headboard and a space heater.
The resident was burned as he tried to push the burning covers out a garden level window at the Boyum Apartments. Thompson says that probably helped keep flames from spreading.
No names were released.
