Senior heavyweight Reece Hopkin, ranked No. 17 nationally, won all three of his matches, but the Northern Colorado wrestling team lost all three of its dual meets Saturday at a triangular in Minneapolis hosted by the University of Minnesota.

Hopkin won two of his matches by pins and is 11-1 this season. Sophomore 125-pounder Tony Mustari and 165-pounder Devan Lewis both went 2-1 on the day.

UNC lost 23-16 to Western Wrestling Conference foe North Dakota State, 29-9 to No. 1-ranked Minnesota and 29-5 to Northern Illinois.

Rage extends streak. The Rocky Mountain Rage withstood a rally by the Texas Brahmas and held on to win its seventh straight Central Hockey League game, 4-3, in North Richland Hills, Texas.

The Rage got first-period goals from Daymen Rycroft, Brent Cullaton and Scott Wray. Rycroft scored again in the second period.

Eagles close out Gorillas. Seth Leonard and Mike Lukajic scored goals in the third period, after Amarillo had closed to within a goal, to give the Colorado Eagles a 5-2 CHL win over the Gorillas in Loveland.

Leonard also scored in the second period. Goalie Ian Kesserich stopped 35-of-37 shots.

Stampede outlasts 14ers. Randy Livingston’s 5-foot turnaround jumper with 1:23 to play gave Idaho the lead, and the Stampede held on to beat the Colorado 14ers 110-109 in an NBA Development League game at the Broomfield Event Center.

Colorado’s Lou White missed an 18-foot jumper in the waning seconds, and Julian Sensley’s shot at the buzzer wouldn’t fall. Sensley led all scorers with 28 points.
