The Wyoming Game and Fish Commission has requested that the Bureau of Land Management delay leasing for oil and gas development in the Saratoga Valley, mirroring a similar Colorado protest against the precipitous letting of leases in Middle Park and North Park.
The Wyoming agency asked that leasing be forestalled until more research can be done on impacts to sage grouse and other wildlife. The request came in support of an earlier statement from the governor’s office opposing the rapid processing of the leases.
