SILVERTHORNE — Four garbage bags packed with 46.8 pounds of marijuana were seized by the Silverthorne Police Department following a routine traffic stop Wednesday afternoon.
Police pulled Thomas Ray Long II, 36, over after he allegedly drove a GMC Denali in the wrong lane, failed to stop at an intersection and almost hit head-on a patrol car that had stopped to help a stalled vehicle, according to a news release.
The officer noticed a “very strong odor” coming from the SUV and searched the vehicle, the release said.
Long was arrested on suspicion of possession and distribution of marijuana, among other charges.
He was released on $7,500 bond from the Summit County Jail.
