NEW YORK — The body of an elderly woman, with a fatal stab wound near her heart, was found Wednesday on a park bench, along with a suicide note in which she said she didn’t want to die alone and unnoticed, police said.
Police believe the note’s reference to dying alone stemmed from the discovery Monday of the remains of a Brooklyn woman who had lain dead in her home for months after having a heart attack.
The woman’s name was not released. She was believed to be in her 70s and apparently lived alone, police sources said.
