The person hired by Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper to to head up a data-driven approach to crime-fighting is leaving for the private sector.

Jeremy Bronson last week gave his notice to the mayor in a personal meeting. Bronson in an interview declined to say where he is headed, saying he is waiting for his new employer to announce his hiring first.

Bronson was charged with finding ways for the Police Department to make effective use of a new $22 million record-management system.
