Heavy rain falling across Colorado’s Front Range could cause flash flooding in the southeast metro area Tuesday evening, including in parts of Douglas and Arapahoe counties, National Weather Service forecasters said.
Forecasters issued a for western Arapahoe and northeast Douglas counties that lasts until at least 10:30 p.m.
The warning area includes eastern Centennial, eastern Highlands Ranch, northern Castle Rock, Parker, Greenwood Village, Lone Tree, Castle Pines, Foxfield and Cherry Creek Reservoir, agency officials said in the alert.

People in the area should not walk or drive through flood waters, the alert says.
“Excessive runoff from this storm will cause flash flooding of small creeks and streams, highways, streets, underpasses, drainage areas and other low lying spots,” forecasters wrote.
Weather radars and rain gauges detected thunderstorms that have already produced between .5 and 2 inches of rain, according to the agency.
