Classic French flair

Colorado designer Lin Lee of Lin Lee & Associates recently beat out 40 national contestants in the “Take a Seat to Toile: Designers Challenge” sponsored by the French designer goods company Pierre Deux. The contest asked decorators to creatively interpret French Country style using a classic chair and Pierre Deux toile. Lee’s chair, which was selected by a VIP panel of design-industry judges, is seen here and will be featured in an upcoming issue of Traditional Home magazine. The chairs were auctioned off to benefit Aid to Artisans. The entire event raised about $20,000 for various regional charities.

Farewell Art-O-Mart

Original jewelry, photography, paintings and T-shirts are just some of the bounty up for grabs from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday when Capsule Gallery, 560 Santa Fe Drive, hosts its last art market. (The building has been sold.) Art-O-Mart is a place where local artists, designers and crafters can sell their wares without paying a booth fee, and then pass the savings on to patrons. Westword readers voted it the “best place to find undiscovered artists.”
