The Northern Colorado men’s basketball team came from behind to beat Bowling Green 64-60 in overtime Thursday night in Greeley. Junior Jabril Banks recorded his first double-double for the Bears, scoring 15 points and grabbing 11 rebounds, as UNC improved to 5-2 and maintained its perfect 4-0 record at home.
Finns honor CU’s Nurmi.
The Finnish Tennis Association named University of Colorado senior Veera Nurmi its 2007 national female player of the year.
Nurmi, a Finland native, won the Finnish National Outdoor Championships in both singles and doubles this past summer. She’s a three-year letterwinner for the Buffs and ranks 19th in school history with 57 singles victories.

Colorado Mines opened the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference women’s basketball schedule with a 71-55 victory over Western State in Golden. Emily Dalton led the Orediggers with 16 points and eight rebounds.
