Now you have another reason to wake up at 5 a.m. Well-known TV talent Peggy Bunker is the new reporter and fill-in anchor on Fox 31’s “Good Day Colorado.” She’ll start behind the anchor desk Monday morning.
She comes with some TV creds: host of WE’s “She’s Moving In!”; host of WE’s “She House”; host of HGTV’s “Hidden Potential”; host of TLC’s “Date Patrol”; reporter on “E! News Live”; anchor of Westchester, N.Y.’s Channel 12 news; host of ‘s “The Finish Line”; host of WB’s national morning show “The Daily Buzz” — with billboards around Chicago telling you to “Wake Up with Peggy Bunker, weekdays 6-8 a.m.”
Spoiler alert!
Bunker’s investment-banker Denver boyfriend played a pivotal part in her move here after 10 years in NYC.
“I’m thrilled to be back in Colorado,” she says. “I’m refreshed.”
She’s a grad of CU-Boulder, where she was a communications and English literature major.
“I came out to visit, and I liked Denver and I liked Fox,” she says. “I wanted to get back into morning television — and it seemed that everyone there was in a good place. It’s the place to be.”
Arf!
Is Broncos coach Mike Shanahan in the doghouse after losing to the Raiders on Sunday afternoon?
Well, he’s on the cover of The Colorado Dog Magazine with his wife, Peggy Shanahan — and their two dogs, Delany, a yellow Lab, and Bailey, a puggle.
The story says the dogs hang with Peggy all day. “At night they sit and watch the front door patiently for Mike to come home when they know they will get some extra treats!” As long as they don’t drop the ball.
Changing channels.
Thrilled with its ratings boost last month, CBS4 hired a billboard truck to trumpet the news around town all week. It happened to pass by KUSA-Channel 9 on Speer Boulevard an inordinate number of times. “That wouldn’t surprise me,” says CBS4 GM Walt DeHaven.
Where in the world?
I wrote here Tuesday that Elway’s in Cherry Creek was situated on the site of the old Baur’s restaurant. Alert reader Peter Bulkeley e-mails me to say I’m not the first person to be confused about this. “Woolworth’s was in the building where Elway’s is and Cost Plus World Market is in the former Baur’s/Lyle Alzado’s location. The first restaurant in the Elway’s location was Grady’s, then Canyon Cafe.”
City spirit.
