COLORADO AT COLUMBUS
5 p.m. tonight, ALT2, KEPN 1600 AM
Spotlight on Michael Peca: The well-traveled Peca has played on a couple of Stanley Cup finalists previously (Buffalo and Edmonton) but still is looking for his first championship ring. The Blue Jackets are longshots to get one this season, but he has helped make Columbus better than in any previous season.
NOTEBOOK
Avalanche: Jose Theodore will get his third straight start in net. Theodore allowed five goals Sunday in a victory over St. Louis, but coach Joel Quenneville thought Theodore played well enough to warrant another start. The Avs’ last loss was a week ago at Nationwide Arena to the Blue Jackets. Goalie Peter Budaj and the team let a 3-1 third-period lead slip away, falling 5-4. Captain Joe Sakic (groin) did not make the trip. He should resume skating as early as today. If not, he will later in the week. Right wing Ian Laperriere (sore knee) made the trip but probably won’t return to the lineup until Thursday at Nashville, Quenneville said.
Blue Jackets: Forward Manny Malhotra (knee) has resumed practicing and could play tonight. Out for Columbus are forwards David Vyborny (hip) and Fredrick Modin (back spasms).
