BARRINGTON, N.H. — Angels, gingerbread houses, Santas. Rudy Giuliani had plenty of choices as he did a bit of shopping Monday at The Christmas Dove before a town-hall meeting with voters. With the holiday just days away and campaigning nonstop, candidates try to catch some time to shop whenever they can.
After posing for a few pictures, the former New York City mayor made a beeline to the back of the store. He looked at yellow Christmas trees, sparkling lights and cowboy-themed nutcrackers before working his way back to the cash register, where he and his New Hampshire campaign chairman, Wayne Semprini, looked at the display case with sets of nativity mangers. Giuliani finally settled on a ceramic angel.
“An angel for an angel, right, Mayor?” Semprini said.
Giuliani posed with the owner’s family.
“This could be our Christmas card,” owner Linda Svenson said.
