A 37-year-old Avon man has been charged with making sexual tapes of juveniles.

Charles Ross was arrested Sunday after deputies from the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office investigated a suspicious bag found two days earlier in a Dumpster at the River Run Apartments in Eagle-Vail.

Shannon Cordingly, spokesperson for the sheriff’s office, said authorities confirmed that Ross was the owner of the bag.

The bag contained numerous credit cards, pieces of identification, and a court document from the Eagle Combined Courts belonging to Ross.

Cordingly said that the investigation showed that Ross created two video tapes, both sexual in nature, of juveniles and was assisted in the recording by Jessie Medina, 24, of Gypsum.

As a result, Cordingly said, Ross has been charged with sexual exploitation of a child, 18 counts of identity theft and theft by receiving and possession of a financial advice.

Both men are being held in the Eagle County Detention Facility – Ross on a $87,037 bond, and Medina on a $25,000 bond.
