AIR FORCE ACADEMY — Anwar Johnson, Tim Anderson and Andrew Henke each scored 13 points as Air Force took a 75-61 decision over Colorado Christian on Saturday at Clune Arena.

Johnson added five rebounds, and Anderson had five steals for Air Force in its third straight win.

Air Force (8-4) held Colorado Christian scoreless during a four-minute stretch of the first half to lead 31-14 with 5:10 remaining in the half. The Falcons led 37-17 at halftime — a margin that proved to be insurmountable.

Colorado Christian (5-5) shot 51 percent from the field but was hurt by 29 turnovers.

Trailing by as many as 27 points, Colorado Christian pulled to within 15, 62-47, with 5:41 left. But the Falcons’ lead was too much to overcome.

Rory Morgan had 19 points for Colorado Christian, and Brian Stamer had 16 points and 11 rebounds.The Falcons are off until playing at Wake Forest next Sunday.

UTEP 79, Wyoming 73

EL PASO — Stefon Jackson scored 33 points, more than half of them at the free-throw line, as Texas-El Paso defeated Wyoming 79-73 in the championship game of the Sun Bowl Tournament.

Jackson hit 8-of-14 from the field and 17-of-21 from the free-throw line. Marvin Kilgore added 16 for the Miners (8-2). Only five other players scored for UTEP.

Brad Jones led a balanced Wyoming scoring attack with 16 points.

Joseph Taylor scored 12, Brandon Ewing and Tyson Johnson each had 11 and Ryan Dermody scored 10 for Wyoming (5-5).

UTEP led 39-32 at the half. After Dermody hit a 3-pointer to pull Wyoming to within two at 39-37 with 18:46 left in the second half, the Miners pulled away steadily. Wyoming could get no closer than five points.

UTEP scored 31 points off Wyoming turnovers.
