DENVER—The sole survivor of a car crash on Interstate 80 in Wyoming has been released from the hospital.

Relatives say 17-year-old Katy Parr plans to travel to Boise, Idaho with family members to continue her recovery.

She lost both of her parents and 19-year-old sister Chase in the crash Saturday as they traveled to Boise for Christmas. Authorities say there was blowing snow and icy conditions when 59-year-old John Parr lost control of the family’s Subaru station wagon. It slid sideways and was ultimately hit by a tractor-trailer.

John Parr was a civic activist who also advised mayors and governors in Colorado. His wife, Sandy Widener, was a co-founder of Westword, Denver’s alternative newspaper.
