ASPEN — A Roaring Fork Valley woman died Monday after her Jeep slid off a snowpacked road into the Fryingpan River, officials said.
Marci Benton was less than a quarter-mile from her home when her vehicle went down the right embankment and landed in the river about 2:30 a.m. Monday, the Colorado State Patrol said.
A passer-by spotted her vehicle about eight hours later.
Troopers said Benton drowned.
The cause of the crash wasn’t immediately known.
