DES MOINES, Iowa—The Powerball jackpot was expected to rise to an estimated $42 million for Saturday since no one matched all six numbers in the midweek drawing.
The winning numbers Wednesday were 8, 32, 41, 54 and 55. The Powerball was 20 and the multiplier was 3.
Players matching all five numbers and the Powerball would have won or shared the $33.3 million jackpot.
A Power Play ticket sold in Louisiana matched the first five numbers only to win $600,000.
The top prize in Colorado was $300 for 23 Power Play tickets that matched other number combinations.
Powerball was created in 1992 and launched in Colorado in 2001.
The game is now played in 29 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
