The great Week 17 punter audition was postponed Thursday because snow kept a couple candidates from reaching Denver, and the Broncos from practicing outdoors. Weather permitting, the Broncos will hold their punter tryout today. Sam Paulescu and B.J. Sanders could get a look. Quarterback Jay Cutler may be the holder for kicker Jason Elam in the regular-season finale Sunday against Minnesota.
Injury update. Cutler (knee) participated fully in the walk-through practice Thursday, but tight end Daniel Graham (ankle) and receiver Brandon Stokley (knee) were held out.
Motivation. The Broncos have gone nearly nine weeks without losing at home. So what if only two of their previous eight games were played at Invesco Field at Mile High. A streak is a streak and the Broncos have one entering their game Sunday at Invesco.
“You never know when the journey starts back to success,” said Broncos safety John Lynch. “One thing we can do is close the year with three straight home wins. Everyone knows when the Broncos have been successful, they’ve been dominant at home. We can re-establish that.”
