MONTROSE — Montrose County officials are ironing out details for a community corrections facility to be built next to the county justice center in Montrose.
Community corrections is an alternative to prison for people convicted of minor crimes. Inmates are monitored, get training and counseling, and are required to hold jobs and pay room and board.
Montrose County currently sends its community corrections inmates to centers elsewhere.
