Three Laredo Bucks players finished with three points apiece in defeating the visiting Colorado Eagles 5-3 on Sunday in Laredo, Texas. It was the first meeting between the teams since the Eagles topped the Bucks for the Central Hockey League championship last season.
The Eagles finished 3-1 on a four-game road trip and remained five points behind Rocky Mountain in the Northwest Division.
Jeff Bes, Adam Rivet and Serge Dube had three points each for Laredo. Mike Lukajic, Scott Polaski and Steve Haddon scored for Colorado.
The Eagles earned a 3-2 victory Saturday over Rio Grande Valley. Colorado won last season’s Ray Miron President’s Cup in six games over Laredo.
Rage beats Oklahoma City.
Daymen Rycroft’s league-leading 10th power-play goal, scored midway through the third period, proved the game-winner in the Rocky Mountain Rage’s 3-2 victory over the host Oklahoma City Blazers in another CHL game.
Rycroft also became the first player in team history to scored 20 goals in a season.
