The discovery of a body with “signs of trauma” found near a sport utility vehicle in Douglas County was being investigated by authorities Monday.
A passer-by called the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office about 11 p.m. Sunday to report seeing a body near a white SUV just off the Happy Canyon Road interchange with Interstate 25, said Cocha Heyden, a sheriff’s spokeswoman.
“It’s a very suspicious death,” Heyden said.
The identity of the male victim was not released, and the incident remains under investigation, Heyden said.
The body was found on the west side of the highway just off Happy Canyon Road.
The investigation affected traffic in the Castle Pines Village area, with some motorists detoured.
More details will be released as the investigation unfolds.
