Douglas County officials sent out a after a vehicle crashed into a building and broke a gas line near Parker on Wednesday afternoon, police officials said.

The crash happened near South Chambers Road and East Mainstreet at 1:14 p.m., according to South Metro Fire Rescue.

Douglas County Sheriff’s Office leaders issued a shelter-in-place order for a half-mile radius from 10759 Tomboy Drive, which includes parts of Newlin Crossing, Sierra Ridge and Meridian Village neighborhoods. between Mainstreet and Cosmopolitan Circle.

Residents should stay inside with their windows closed, turn off their heating and cooling systems and avoid any activity that could cause a spark or create electricity, South Metro officials said.
