NEW BERN, N.C. — Two former employees of Blackwater Worldwide were sentenced to probation Thursday on gunrunning charges. Kenneth Wayne Cashwell of Virginia Beach, Va., and William Ellsworth “Max” Grumiaux of Clemmons, N.C., were sentenced to three years’ probation and a $1,000 fine on charges of possession of stolen firearms that had been shipped in interstate or foreign commerce
Cashwell and Grumiaux were caught up in a federal investigation that was looking at whether Blackwater had shipped automatic weapons and military goods to Iraq without a license.
