Reeling in runners
Runners might want to take a break from their training routines and slip into a comfy seat at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 24, when movie theaters across the country will show the documentary “Spirit of the Marathon.” It tells the story of six runners — from a first-timer to an Olympic bronze medalist — as they prepare for and participate in the Chicago Marathon. Among the local theaters presenting the story are Denver Pavilions 15, Greenwood Plaza 12, Highlands Ranch 24, Colorado Mills, Bel Mar 16, Meadows 12, Westminster Promenade 24 and Southlands 16. Responding to the surge in popularity of yoga, Pilates and other fitness and lifestyle trends, Dillard’s is introducing Tranquility departments in selected stores. The Park Meadows and FlatIrons locations in February will begin offering pants, tanks, leggings and hoodies that function in both the fitness studio and for running errands around town.
