Five players scored for the U.S. women’s national under-18 team as it won the first International Ice Hockey Federation World Women’s U18 championship, 5-2 over Canada at David Bauer Arena in Calgary, Alberta.

Lakewood’s Rebecca Ruegsegger and Elizabeth Turgeon of Cherry Hills Village didn’t figure in the box score, but each contributed in the team’s 5-0 run at the tournament.

The Colorado Eagles set the minor-league professional hockey record for consecutive regular-season sellouts at 145 on Saturday as the Eagles earned a 6-5 Central Hockey League victory over the rival Rocky Mountain Rage at the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland.
