The driver of a pickup who ran into a police car stopped at a light, injuring the Aurora officer behind the wheel, may have been drunk and speeding.
Aurora police haven’t identified either the driver or the officer involved in the wreck early this morning.
The cop was released after being treated at an area hospital. The driver of the black Isuzu pickup was treated for several broken bones.
The pickup ran a stoplight on South Buckley Road at E. Quincy Avenue before rear-ending the police car stopped at a light about one-half block farther north.
“It does appear that alcohol and/or speed were both factors in this accident,” according to a release.
Charges are pending against the driver of the Isuzu.
