Colorado Ski Country USA revealed Thursday that its 26 ski resorts hosted an estimated 2.87 million skier and snowboarder visits during the first period of the 2007-08 winter season, which ran from Oct. 10 through Dec. 31.
The early-season numbers represent a decline of 12.5 percent from last year’s record during the same period. Resort operators say this year’s numbers are more in line with a typical ski season than last year, when there was a record number of snowstorms.
