Pro Rodeo. 11 a.m., 3:30 and 8 p.m. Saturday; 2 and 6:30 p.m. Sunday. Go for the charm of the mutton busting, stay for the showmanship of the Westernaires. The stock show’s main attraction features all the usual events, plus barrel man Ryan Rodriguez. Tickets start at $11.
Wild West Show.5 p.m. Saturday and 4 p.m. Sunday. To the cowboys and cowgirls of yesteryear, roping, riding and shooting were part of a long day’s work. But to outsiders taken by the romance of the Old West, it was all entertainment, part of traveling pageants billed as Wild West shows. The tradition endures, enhanced at this year’s National Western Stock Show by dance hall girls, a stagecoach holdup and a tribute to American Indians. Tickets are $12 and include admission to the complex.
Charolais Sale. 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Forget those hefty Herefords and showy shorthorns, the Charolais, with their creamy coats and subtle French accents, are among the most fetching breeds. See what prices these 2,000-pound moo monsters command.
