DENVER—Rhett Rakhshani and Brock Trotter each had a goal and an assist as Denver defeated Bemidji State 4-2 Saturday night.
Marc Cheverie made 26 saves in his first collegiate start for Denver (18-6-0), which ended a two-game losing skid.
Orlando Alamano made 28 saves for Bemidji State (11-11-2).
Bemidji State pulled within 3-2 on Blaine Jarvis’ power-play goal 11:22 into the second period.
Trotter scored a short-handed goal in the third period on a breakaway, faking to his backhand before putting a forehand attempt past Alamano, to give Denver the 4-2 lead.
Tyler Scofield gave Bemidji State an early lead after skating in all alone and tucking a backhand between Cheverie’s legs at 6:19 of the first period, but Tyler Bozak and Matt Glasser scored for Denver before the period was over.
Rakhshani gave Denver a 3-1 lead with a wrister from the slot area at 3:57 of the second period on a power play before Jarvis scored for the Beavers.
