Aurora firefighters battled a “stubborn” house fire through the night that destroyed a home, officials say.

Twenty-five firefighters fought the blaze at 2225 Jamaica St. in north Aurora starting at 9:40 p.m., Aurora Fire Department Capt. Mark Turley said.

The house, valued at about $175,000, was vacant at the time. The cause of the fire is under investigation, Turley said.
